Foliage Growers West Coast is a boutique seasonal foliage farm, primarily supplying florists and flower farmers with fresh ready to use premium stems.

My name is Alice, I own and operate Foliage Growers West Coast with the support of my family. We have three sons who have grown with the business, digging, planting, building, mowing and maintaining my machinery for me.

My partner and I share a love of the land and a way of life together, something that begun at the beginning long before children and business. Hunting, fishing, farming sheep, growing food, making preserves, compost and other garden brews. We have been guardians of a special piece of land for over 20 years, developing a genuine relationship with both the land and the climate. As the children have got older I have sort new challenges, breeding and fattening lambs is now my side hustle during my off season.

Why foliage? I like to work with the land and climate. We live in the heart of the beautiful West Coast renounced for its rain forest and natural beauty. Trees grow well here and don’t mind spring rains and heavy downpours. With a diverse mix of carefully selected natives, exotics, evergreens and deciduous trees and shrubs we are improving the biodiversity, working with the climate, and supporting our local economy. What does a changing climate mean to us? Regularly maintaining drains and flood plains, a proactive approach to disease prevention and careful planting strategies for a special group of plants that are “frost tender when young”.
